Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, and operate centrifuge equipment.
• Record maintenance data and perform decontamination procedures.
• Update patient information according to established protocols.
• Collect and store specimens following standard procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes to patients.
• Demonstrate proper technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Follow physicians' orders and match requisitions to tubes.
• Package specimens for transport and comply with OSHA regulations.
