Job summary

Software Placement Group, SPG seeks a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract in Kannapolis, NC on-site. Role involves blood draws, specimen labeling, and strict procedure adherence in a fast-paced lab setting.

Requires state phlebotomy certification and at least 1 year of healthcare experience; includes benefits and potential permanent placement. Mileage may be reimbursed for floating to other accounts.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification required in the state of employment
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital
• Minimum 1 year of overall healthcare experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge samples, and maintain records
• Collect and store specimens per established procedures
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes to patients
• Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles
• Follow physicians' orders and match requisitions to tubes
• Package specimens for transport and store specimens at required temperatures
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations
• Attend annual department trainings
• Answer calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries
• May float to other accounts; mileage expense paid
