Job summary

Job Juncture is seeking a phlebotomist for a contract position in North Carolina. The role involves performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, and ensuring accurate documentation. The candidate will follow established procedures, comply with OSHA regulations, and participate in ongoing trainings.

The assignment lasts about 3 months with potential for permanent placement. Valid phlebotomy certification and experience in venipuncture are required, along with a high school diploma

Qualifications

  • Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
  • 6 months+ venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High School Diploma or GED; minimum 2 years of experience stated in some contexts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood draws and label specimens, centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.
  • Collect and store specimens per established procedures.
  • Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
  • Demonstrate needle techniques (straight/butterfly) as required.
  • Match requisitions to specimens and properly label, centrifuge, split and freeze as ordered.
  • Package specimens for transport and store at required temperatures.
  • Follow OSHA/DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
  • Answer calls and review lab results to satisfy inquiries.
