Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Phlebotomist for Fairfield Hospital to join the Laboratory Department. You will be responsible for drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for testing, and completing clerical duties to keep the department efficient.

Education requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, with phlebotomy experience preferred. Travel to off-site locations and customer service experience are valued in this role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community respectfully.
• Collects all specimens according to established procedures from patients and ensures proper processing.
• Identifies patients accurately and matches identity with service for patient safety.
• Performs data entry and processing of specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as ordered.
• Performs clerical duties such as inventory checks, stock supplies, and answering phones as needed.
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
