Mass General Brigham is hiring a Phlebotomist to collect blood, urine, and nasal swabs, explain safety procedures, and provide clerical support at the Specimen Collection center. You will verify identifiers, prepare sites, label specimens, and ensure patient privacy in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

Regular schedule includes weekend shifts with a 40-hour work week, pay range $22.00–$26.58 hourly, and opportunities for growth within Laboratory Support Services.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Pediatric Phlebotomy experience is prefered.
• Graduate of a training Program that includes phlebotomy skills, with demonstrated and acceptable Competency in phlebotomy is preferred.
• Inpatient Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Check two patient identifiers and ensure a complete match between requisitions, labels, and patient identification card.
• Use hand hygiene procedures according to unit guidelines.
• Select appropriate specimen collection equipment.
• Select an appropriate site for blood collection.
• Tie tourniquet and prepare site for venipuncture.
• Collect specimens according to the order of draw.
• Label in the presence of the patient.
• Package and transport specimens.
• Monitor the patient and ensure bleeding has stopped, and the patient is stable.
• Review prior to collection a standard checklist which includes checking for potential adverse reactions such as a history of fainting, and latex allergy.
• Maintain patient privacy, and follows all HIPAA guidelines.
