Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect specimens including blood, urine, and nasal swabs under supervision. The role emphasizes patient safety, accurate labeling, and collaboration with Laboratory Support Services.

Work hours are day shifts with 40 hours per week at the 52 Second Avenue location. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered to new team members, with competitive pay and benefits and a focus on HIPAA compliance and patient privacy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pediatric Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomist training program with demonstrated competency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check two patient identifiers and insure a complete match between requisitions, labels and patient ID.
• Use hand hygiene procedures according to unit guidelines.
• Select appropriate specimen collection equipment and site for venipuncture.
• Tie tourniquet and prepare site for venipuncture.
• Collect specimens and ensure proper mixing and labeling.
• Package and transport specimens and monitor patient safety.
• Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance.
• Provide clerical and front desk duties at Specimen Collection center.
