Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect specimens for laboratory analysis at the 15 Parkman Street site. You will perform venipuncture, collect blood, urine, sputum and nasal swabs, while ensuring patient privacy and accurate labeling.

The role requires a high school diploma; pediatric and inpatient phlebotomy experience is preferred. Training is provided for competency in phlebotomy and related clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Pediatric Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Inpatient Phlebotomy experience preferred, and training will be provided.
• Graduate of a training program that includes phlebotomy skills with demonstrated competency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens including blood, urine, sputums and nasal swabs.
• Label specimens in the presence of patients and ensure patient privacy (HIPAA compliant).
• Package, transport and document specimens per policy.
• Monitor patients during collection and ensure bleeding has stopped; assess adverse reactions.
• Provide front desk clerical tasks and maintain inventory for the center.
