Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy training or program completion preferred.
• Pediatric phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check two patient identifiers and ensure a complete match between requisitions, labels and patient ID.
• Use hand hygiene procedures according to unit guidelines.
• Select appropriate specimen collection equipment and site for blood collection.
• Tie tourniquet and prepare site for venipuncture; collect specimen as ordered.
