Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Inc. in Venice, FL is seeking a Phlebotomist II to join our patient-focused lab team. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with rotational weekends, and pay starts at $21.70 per hour.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, proper labeling, data entry, and maintaining phlebotomy logs. We offer comprehensive benefits, 401(k), tuition assistance, and opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screenings.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Review test/client information and verify orders using lab systems and approved tools.
• Navigate computer systems and accurately enter data.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required, following policies.
• Process specimens for transport: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, and freezing as needed.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock, sanitizing, filing, phones, emails.
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with data compilation and statistics submission.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and temperature logs.
• Complete training courses timely.
