Job description

Our Client, a Clinical Laboratory company, is looking for a Phlebotomist II for their Nashville, TN location.

Responsibilities:

• The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.
• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, decontaminate equipment, update patient information, and collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection methods clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Verify test requisitions against labels to ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of blood drawing experience as a Phlebotomist.
