Responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations (e.g., FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP).
  • Providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive donor experience.
  • Maintaining a clean and professional work environment.
  • Confirming donor identity and confidentiality.
  • Preparing equipment for venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures.
  • Labeling samples accurately.
  • Performing venipunctures and plasma collection safely and effectively.
  • Operating automated plasmapheresis machines, responding to alarms, and documenting incidents.
  • Monitoring donor conditions to ensure safety and quality of plasma.
  • Disconnecting donors and disposing of biohazardous waste following safety protocols.
  • Calibrating and maintaining equipment regularly.
  • Reporting unsafe conditions to management.
  • Managing inventory and supplies.
  • Mentoring Phlebotomist I and assisting in training and compliance.
  • Troubleshooting machine issues and performing quality controls.
  • Collaborating with Quality Assurance to improve performance.
  • Organizing storage areas and performing other related tasks.
Qualifications include:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Relevant certification or licensing as per state requirements.
  • At least 3 months’ experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Training completed prior to independent duties.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal protocols.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to perform venipunctures.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work day/evening shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
