Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Winsted, CT is seeking a Phlebotomist I to perform specimen collection from patients on a Monday to Friday schedule, with rotational Saturday hours. • Proven ability to collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Ability to accurately enter data in lab systems.
• Strong communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information, collect payments when required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, emails.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submission.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and temperature logs.
• Complete training courses timely.
