Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Phlebotomist I in Wethersfield, CT. The role runs Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch and rotational weekends. You will collect specimens, verify orders, and support billing processes in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The position requires English communication and may require phlebotomy credentials; prior phlebotomy experience is preferred. This is a full-time role with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screenings, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Verify orders using lab systems and client contact.
• Navigate computer systems and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required following policies.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and transport prep.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock, sanitizing, filing, phones, emails.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submissions.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and related records.
• Complete trainings online and in person timely.
