Quest Diagnostics in Middletown, CT is hiring a Phlebotomist I for a Monday–Friday shift, 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with alternating Saturdays 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM. The role offers pay between $21.60–$23.15 per hour and eligibility for annual bonus based on performance.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, data entry, order verification, and non-patient duties. Required education includes a high school diploma; phlebotomy training/certification is preferred, particularly outside CA/NV/WA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Medical training preferred (medical assistant or paramedic).
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions as trained.
• Research test/client information and verify orders via lab systems and client contact.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Obtain ID and enter billing information; collect payments when required per policy.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport prep.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones, emails.
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and temperature logs timely.
• Complete online and in-person training timely.
