Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Phlebotomist I in Tampa, FL. The role follows a Monday–Friday schedule, with Saturday mornings. The starting pay is $20.00 per hour plus eligibility for annual bonuses based on performance.

The position involves collecting specimens, operating lab systems, and ensuring accurate data entry and patient information handling. A high school diploma and phlebotomy training are expected, with certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric screenings.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Verify orders using lab systems and client contact.
• Navigate computer systems and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and process payments when required.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport prep.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submissions.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and maintenance logs.
