Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist I for Port Charlotte, FL, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with rotational weekends. Pay starts at $20.00 per hour, with potential for annual bonus consideration based on performance and company factors.

The role includes specimen collection, data entry, and patient service tasks. Requires high school diploma; phlebotomy experience preferred and English communication skills essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) is preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification is preferred; required in CA, NV, WA.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information and collect payments when required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties (inventory, supplies, sanitizing, filing, phones, email).
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and temperature logs.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
