Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a Phlebotomist I for Bay Shore, NY, with a Monday-Friday shift from 6:00 AM to 1:30 PM and rotating Saturdays from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The role emphasizes accurate specimen collection and data entry within established lab procedures.

The position offers a pay range of $24.00–$25.70 per hour, with potential eligibility for a performance bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify orders using lab systems, client contact, and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain billing information and collect payments following corporate policies.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and transport preparation.
• Perform non-patient facing duties including inventory, stock, sanitizing, filing, answering phones and email.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs timely (maintenance and temperature logs).
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
