Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Phlebotomist to obtain quality blood samples across age groups using venous, capillary, arterial, or line methods. You will work with clinicians and staff to ensure accurate labeling, proper transport, and rapid response to emergencies. Training is provided on the job.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and phlebotomy certification (ASCP/NHA/ASPT); medical field experience is preferred. Travel to other Mayo Clinic locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification from ASCP/NHA/ASPT required or preferred.
• Experience in medical field preferred.
• Willingness to travel to other Mayo Clinic locations.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to push a cart and walk distances; moderate to advanced computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain quality blood samples using venous, capillary, arterial, and line methods.
• Identify patients, label samples accurately, and ensure proper transport.
• Interact with patients, nurses, providers, and other healthcare staff.
• Answer phones and assist with training of students and new employees.
• Respond rapidly to medical emergencies as needed.
