Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification from an approved agency (ASCP/NHA/ASPT) required or must have MA/MLT/MT certifications.
• Phlebotomy certification or licensure is required to qualify.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred; medical field experience preferred.
• Must be able to push a cart and walk distances.
• Moderate to advanced computer skills; able to use multiple systems.
• Good written and oral communication skills; ability to prioritize and manage time.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel to other Mayo Clinic locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Obtain quality blood samples using phlebotomy methods for all age groups.
• Provide rapid response to medical emergencies as needed.
• Interact with patients, nurses, providers and other healthcare professionals to ensure satisfaction.
• Handle sample labeling, transport, and accurate patient identification.
• Answer phones and assist with training of students and new employees.
