The position requires proficient phlebotomy, strong patient communication, and the ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Willing to work flexible shifts, including weekends and on-call.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; phlebotomy certification preferred in some states.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages.
• Accurately label and process specimens per lab protocol.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of phlebotomy carts and work areas.
• Data entry and processing of specimens as required by test order.
• Assist with training new staff or students as needed.
• Observe infection control and safety protocols at all times.
• Rotate through inpatient, outpatient, physicians’ offices, and ED settings.
