Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist I in Troy, MI, with a 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM schedule on weekdays and every third Saturday in Rochester. This role requires performing specimen collection, maintaining logs, and handling data entry and billing in a fast-paced lab environment.

The position favors candidates with a high school diploma and phlebotomy training; phlebotomy certification is preferred and may be required in certain states. Customer service experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and confirm and verify orders using lab systems.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Enter billing information and collect payments per policy.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
