Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Lancaster, CA is hiring a Phlebotomist I. The role requires a state phlebotomy license (NHA licenses are not accepted in CA). Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with rotational weekends. Pay range is $24.00 to $25.70 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify all orders using lab technology systems.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information; collect payments when required.
• Processing specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and transport preparation.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones and utilizing email as appropriate.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and complete training timely.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
