Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist I in Tracy, CA to collect specimens and support patient services. Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–4:00 PM with rotational weekends; state phlebotomy license required; CA does not accept NHA licenses. Competitive hourly pay and eligibility for annual performance bonuses and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities include specimen collection, data entry, processing and maintaining logs, and complying with policies. Prior phlebotomy experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, WA.
• Medical training preferred (medical assistant or paramedic).

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Obtain ID and enter billing information; collect payments when required.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport prep.
• Perform non-patient facing duties (inventory, sanitizing, filing, phones, email).
• Read, understand and comply with policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with statistics/data submission.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and maintenance/temperature logs.
• Complete training courses timely.
