Joseph Michaels International in Washington, DC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract position. The role involves blood draws, specimen labeling, and proper transport documentation. You will work with geriatric patients in a fast-paced lab or clinical setting, with a schedule Mon-Fri 7am-4pm and some Saturday mornings.

The contract is for about 3 months with potential to convert to permanent. Must have phlebotomy certification, at least 5 years venipuncture experience, and proficiency with MS

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum of 5 years venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsabilités

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand and follow physicians' orders.
• Match requisition forms to specimens and labels.
• Package specimens for transport and store per protocol.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer calls and read laboratory results to address inquiries.
