Our Client, a Medical Research company, is looking for a Phlebotomist Floater III for their Columbia, MD location.
Responsibilities:
- The Phlebotomist III - Float represents the face of our company to patients who come to the client, either as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions.
- The Phlebotomist III - Float draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
- The Phlebotomist III - Float has direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, explaining procedures, and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. They are responsible for providing coverage at multiple locations and roles.
- The Phlebotomist III - Float ensures that daily activities of the Patient Service Center, Mobile, Long Term Care, and In-Office Phlebotomy are completed accurately and on time.
- The Phlebotomist III - Float demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
- Acts as a coach, mentor, instructor, and resource advisor for new employees, providing effective onboarding for new staff and clients. They serve as a point of contact on site and provide input to supervisors.
- May work with high complexity and/or high volume practices requiring outstanding phlebotomy skills.
- Engages in customer-facing activities that require excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and collaboration across functions such as Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT, Billing, and Logistics, especially for specialized or complex test orders.
- Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum of 3 years in a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
