Job description

Title: Phlebotomist III - Floater

Location: Leesburg, Virginia, United States, 20176

Duration: 2+ months

Shift: The hours for the float role are from 6am-6pm, Monday to Friday, depending on business needs. 40 hours/week.

Description:
  • The Patient Services Representative III Floater (PSR III) represents the face of our company to patients, assisting with health routines and health decisions.
  • The PSR III draws quality blood samples and prepares specimens for lab testing, following established procedures.
  • The PSR III has direct patient contact, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, explaining procedures, and drawing blood safely and accurately.
  • The PSR III demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy.
  • Assignments may include working in a doctor's office, patient service center, or as dictated by business needs.
  • Under supervision, performs daily activities accurately and timely, maintaining a safe and professional environment.
  • Performs forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing, verifying patient information and labels.
  • Maintains records and documentation as required.
  • Promotes organizational commitment and a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexible and available to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  • Adherence to all policies, procedures, dress code, and safety guidelines.
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Strong customer focus and effective communication skills.
Required Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
  • At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred; keyboard/data entry experience is a plus.
Additional Job Details:
  • Foothills Community Anderson: Monday and Thursday, 8 am - 2 pm
  • Foothills Community Clemson: Wednesday and Friday, 8 am - 2 pm
  • Foothills Community Easley: Tuesday, 8 am - 2 pm
