Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions seeks a Phlebotomist for a contract role in the Austin area, with potential for permanent placement. This float position covers multiple sites and daytime hours.

You will perform blood draws, label and centrifuge specimens, and document results and patient data, following established procedures and safety rules.

Requirements include a valid phlebotomy certification, at least 6 months' venipuncture experience, and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed).

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain clearly the venipuncture process to patients; demonstrate technique.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensures 100% accuracy.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order; transport compliant with protocols.
