Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC. is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in San Antonio, TX. The position covers a 10-15 mile radius and requires availability Monday–Friday 7am–5:30pm. The assignment lasts about 3 months with potential for permanent placement. Benefits are available.

Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and centrifuging specimens, and ensuring accurate data entry and transport packaging. Prior clinical phlebotomy experience is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Ensure correct matching of requisitions and specimens; package specimens for transport.
• Store specimens at required temperatures and follow transport/handling protocols.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
