Job summary

Mercy Health in Lima, OH seeks a Phlebotomist for the Lima Medical Office Building 750 W High. You will draw quality blood samples, prepare specimens for lab testing, and perform clerical tasks to maintain department efficiency.

Travel to off-site locations may be required. Qualifications include a High School degree or GED; phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required; one year of phlebotomy experience and customer service background are pluses.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED.
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required.
• One-year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required; customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures and ensure proper processing.
• Identify patients accurately and match identity with service for safety.
• Handle data entry and processing of specimens (labeling, centrifuging, splitting, freezing) as ordered.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory checks and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
