Job summary

Mercy Health in North Lima (Youngstown area) seeks a Phlebotomist to join the Laboratory Department. You will draw blood, prepare specimens for testing, and handle clerical tasks to keep the department running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred but not required.
• One year of phlebotomy experience preferred but not required; customer service in a retail/service environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing.
• Complete clerical duties in a timely manner and perform data entry.
• Enter orders and look up results, and generate reports as needed.
• Answer internal/external calls in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Greet patients and the community in a respectful manner and provide excellent customer service.
• Identify patients accurately and ensure correct service matching for patient safety.
• Travel to off-site locations as needed.
