Job summary

Mercy Health in Lima is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory Department. The role involves drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for testing, and handling clerical tasks to support efficient operation.

Responsibilities include order entry, result look-up, report generation, and friendly communication with internal and external contacts. Travel to off-site locations may be required as part of patient care.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Ability to travel to off-site locations.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner.
• Collects specimens according to established procedures and ensures proper processing.
• Identify patients accurately and match identity with service for patient safety.
• Data entry and processing of specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as ordered.
• Perform clerical duties like inventory checks and phones as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
