Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC is hiring a Phlebotomist for Washington DC (Georgia Ave NW). Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm. Projected duration: 3 months with potential for permanent hire.

Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and centrifuging specimens, documenting data, and communicating the process clearly to patients, including geriatric individuals. Must have a valid phlebotomy certification and at least 5 years of venipuncture experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 5 work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains the venipuncture process to patients, including geriatric individuals.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physician orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Package specimens for transport and store/label/prepare according to protocol.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend trainings.
• Answer inquiries and review results as needed.
