KLA Industries is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Washington DC (Georgia Ave NW). The position runs Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm, for an estimated 3 months with potential for permanent placement.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification required in the state of employment.
• Minimum 5 years of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain clearly and courteously the venipuncture process and other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Follow physicians’ orders and match requisitions to specimens.
