Job summary

AdventHealth in Riverview, Florida is seeking a PRN Lab/Phlebotomy Associate to perform preanalytic and specimen handling duties. The role requires phlebotomy skills, adherence to safety policies, and strong customer service with patients and staff.

The position is on-site at 13403 Boyette Rd, Riverview, FL 33569 with Day-Weekend shifts. Training and certifications in phlebotomy are preferred and background screening may apply.

Qualifications

• Technical skills related to laboratory procedures.
• Ability to communicate in English with patients and staff.
• Ability to read text and numbers in English and use basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• May perform cytopreparatory staining and accessions surgical cases.
• May receive and set up primary specimen cultures.
• May clean and disinfect laboratory equipment and spaces.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and evaluates new equipment.
• Provides resolution to customer service issues within guidelines and supports education to clinical staff.
• Follows safety policies including PPE use, handwashing, and hazardous chemical handling.
• Collects patient, physician, and test info for accounts and verification.
• May perform blood collection, including phlebotomy and skin puncture.
