Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification as required in the employing state.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens.
• Collects and stores specimens according to procedures; explains venipuncture process to patients.
• Demonstrates technique with straight or butterfly needles; follows physicians' orders.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper labeling and temperature.
• Attend annual department trainings; comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Answer telephone calls; read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
