Job summary

AdventHealth in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Part-time Phlebotomy Technician to join our Laboratory team. You will collect blood specimens, prepare samples, and support patient care under supervision, ensuring accuracy and safety in line with our standards.

Responsibilities include processing specimens, maintaining equipment, assisting with quality control, and communicating clearly with patients and staff. An HS diploma and phlebotomy training are preferred; on-site work requires professionalism

Qualifications

Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
Phlebotomy skills are required.
Excellent customer service is required.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English and work with diverse patients.

Responsibilities

May perform cytopreparatory staining and accessions surgical cases with knowledge of anatomy.
May receive and set up primary specimen cultures, inoculating petri dishes for bacterial growth.
May clean and disinfect laboratory equipment and spaces, maintaining inventory control and supply stocking.
Collects patient, physician, and test order information to create patient accounts, verifying identification, insurance, credentials, and requirements.
May perform blood specimen collection and phlebotomy for all age groups.
Performs other duties as assigned.
