Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum of 5 venipuncture experiences in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per protocol, ensuring specimen integrity.
