Job summary

Accounting Search in Germantown, MD is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. The role requires blood draws, specimen labeling, and adherence to lab procedures, with a schedule of Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm.

Minimum 2 years of experience and a valid phlebotomy certification are required. Benefits are available and project duration may extend based on performance.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed, if required.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrates technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Follows physician orders and matches requisitions to specimens.
• Packages specimens for transport and stores samples per protocol; complies with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attends annual department trainings and responds to inquiries by phone.
