Job Juncture in Germantown, MD is seeking a qualified phlebotomist for a contract role with potential for permanent hire. Schedule is Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm, with an expected duration of 3 months plus a path to perm.

Responsibilities include performing venipunctures, labeling and processing specimens, maintaining accurate patient information, and ensuring sample integrity and compliance with OSHA/DEP regulations. Minimum 2 years experience required and a state phlebotomy certification.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 5 work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsabilités

• Perform venipunctures and collect specimens.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Package specimens for transport and store per protocols.
• Maintain equipment and document maintenance data.
• Ensure test requisitions match specimens and comply with OSHA/DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and relay lab results as needed.
