Key People in Port Charlotte, FL is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role with potential for permanent placement. The position requires 2–4 years of diagnostic phlebotomy experience and pediatric to geriatric patient handling.

Schedule is Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm, with benefits available and a projected 3-month duration plus possible permanency. The successful candidate will perform blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, and ensure accurate data recording, while complying with OSHA/DEP

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of diagnostic phlebotomy experience.
• State phlebotomy certification may be required depending on location.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience performing blood draws and labeling specimens.
• Centrifuging specimens and maintaining accurate maintenance data.
• Decontamination and proper specimen transport following procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly to patients.
• Ensure test requisitions match specimen labels and keep accurate records.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper storage temperatures.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend trainings.
• Answer inquiries and communicate results as needed.
