Job summary

Henderson Group is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Cumming, GA, with a shift from 7:15am to 4:15pm, Monday to Friday. The position offers a three-month duration with potential for permanent placement and benefits.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, and adherence to lab procedures while maintaining patient care standards. Requires phlebotomy certification and the ability to work with all age groups.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Phlebotomy certification required by state where employed.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination; collect specimens and store per procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients and demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisitions to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Package specimens for transport; store samples at required temperatures and label accurately for transport.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual department trainings.
