Job summary

The phlebotomist position in Ashland, OR is a contract role with potential to become permanent. Schedule is Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm, with every other Friday off. Projected duration is 3 months with potential for perm. Benefits are available and the role requires experience with blood draws and specimen handling.

Responsibilities include labeling, centrifuging, maintaining data records, and transporting specimens while adhering to OSHA/DEP regulations. OSHA trainings are required annually.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures and matches requisition forms to tubes.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously; demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Package specimens for transport; store samples by required temperature and comply with OSHA/DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings and respond to inquiries from results.
