Job summary

SPG is seeking a Phlebotomist to support lab operations across multiple Austin-area sites. This 3-month contract role offers on-site duties, with potential for permanence, and requires patient sample collection, proper handling, and documentation.

The role involves phlebotomy, processing specimens, and clear communication with patients, with occasional travel between float locations in the Austin area.

Qualifications

• Certification in phlebotomy required where applicable.
• Minimum 6 months’ venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with basic software and patient record systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.
• Record maintenance and decontamination data for specimens.
• Explain venipuncture procedures clearly to patients.
• Float between locations in the Austin, TX area as needed.
• Follow physician orders and verify requisitions against labels.
