Job Juncture in Austin is seeking a contract Phlebotomist for a 3-month assignment with potential to move to permanent. Location: Austin, TX; schedule: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm; occasional additional daytime hours; responsibilities include blood draws and specimen labeling, with mileage paid for travel within the Austin area.

The role requires valid Phlebotomy certification, at least 6 months venipuncture experience in fast-paced labs, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification as required.
• 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in fast-paced labs or hospitals.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience performing blood draws and labeling specimens.
• Centrifuging specimens and recording maintenance data.
• Decontamination and updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Ensure test requisitions match and are accurate.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Maintain required specimen storage conditions.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer calls and relay laboratory results.
