Job summary

Top Echelon Software LLC seeks a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Rockville, MD. The position runs Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm, with an initial 3-month duration and potential for permanent placement based on performance.

The ideal candidate will have a valid phlebotomy certification, at least 2 years of relevant experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 5 work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to protocol.
