Job summary

KingRecruitingServices is seeking a Phlebotomist for Rockville, MD. This contract position offers a potential path to permanent employment. Schedule aligns with a M-F, 8am–4:30pm window. The assignment is 3 months with potential for permanency, job code CVDJP00036058.

Primary duties include venipuncture, specimen labeling, processing, and maintaining accurate patient data while complying with OSHA guidelines. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 5 work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously as required.
• Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand all physicians' orders.
• Match requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels for accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimens according to required temperature and transport protocols; follow OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer calls and read lab results to satisfy inquiries.
