Job summary

Mercy Health’s Springfield location seeks a Phlebotomist to draw blood, prepare samples for testing and handle clerical tasks to keep the lab efficient.

Responsibilities include patient greeting, specimen collection, data entry, and order processing, with off-site travel as needed. Education includes a high school diploma or GED; phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and deliver excellent customer service.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Identify patients accurately and match identity with service.
• Label, centrifuge, split and freeze specimens as ordered.
• Perform clerical duties like inventory checks and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot problems and support department operations.
• Other duties as assigned.
