Job summary

Mercy Health West Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Lab team on a PRN basis. The Phlebotomist will draw quality blood samples, prepare specimens for testing, and perform clerical duties to keep the department running smoothly.

Responsibilities include patient identification, order entry, result look-up, report generation, and answering calls with professionalism. High school diploma or GED required; phlebotomy certification preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect specimens according to procedures and ensure proper processing.
• Identify patients correctly and verify identity with service.
• Handle data entry and specimen processing (labeling, centrifuging, splitting).
• Perform clerical duties and answer phones as needed.
• Troubleshoot problems and assist with other duties.
