Job summary

Southeast Medical Group in Sandy Springs, GA is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. You will perform venipuncture and capillary collections, label and transport specimens, and document results in the EHR with accuracy.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy training completed or in program.
• Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum 1 year phlebotomy experience in clinical/hospital setting.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and venipuncture.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient with medical software and basic computer skills.
• Ability to stand long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Background check, drug screen, and proof of immunizations including Hep B.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification required; BLS certification preferred.
• HIPAA and OSHA compliance awareness.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary collections on patients of all ages.
• Verify identity, explain procedures, and obtain informed consent.
• Label, process, and transport specimens with chain-of-custody.
• Maintain clean work area and dispose of biohazardous waste.
• Assist with phlebotomy supply and equipment inventory.
• Enter patient data and test requests into the EHR.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and lab staff for patient care.
• Participate in QA activities including proficiency testing and calibration.
• Follow all policies including privacy (HIPAA) and safety.
