Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification required or completed within 6 months.
• Experience in clinical/hospital phlebotomy preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy and venipuncture techniques.
• Ability to protect patient privacy and follow HIPAA.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on patients of all ages.
• Verify patient identity, explain procedures, and obtain informed consent.
• Label, process, and transport specimens with accurate chain-of-custody.
• Maintain a clean work area and proper disposal of biohazard waste.
• Assist with phlebotomy supplies inventory management.
• Enter patient data and test requests into EHR with high accuracy.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and lab staff to ensure seamless care.
• Participate in QA activities and equipment calibration.
• Adhere to policies including HIPAA and safety requirements.
